    Letter written to E. B. Gaston from W. E. Brokaw of St. Louis, Missouri dated 05/03/1894. Brokaw, editor of a single tax newspaper, The Courier (The Courier Publishing Company), is optimistic about the movement, and says men are "falling in line" towards supporting the movement. He predicts Ohio businessman and congressman Tom Loftin Johnson (1854-1911) will be elected president in 1896.

Miller saying that he lives in a drought stricken area with no rain for 5 months and farms mortgaged for half their values, that it is almost impossible to meet taxes and interest and live, yet the worst perils are the President (Grover Cleveland) and Cabinet.
