Gaston says the Miller road is "entirely knocked out" and that is even more reason why "the people of this vicinity should unite on the People's Railroad.

Gaston reports he is making a "great effort to get an additional car and also to make some extension of the line." Gaston "took a spin a la Ford " with his daughter "on the new state aid road past Elmwood where he said the orange trees are putting on a great show.

Stromberg, who has a printing business, is a bond holder in the People's Railroad Company, and Gaston is writing saying the PRR will not be able to pay interest due to the financial situation of the "road." He and his mother plan to come to Fairhope in the winter and are looking forward to it. Stomberg comments of the War is affecting his business.
