    Photograph of the Dryer Hotel in Daphne, Alabama. According to the Alabama Historic Inventory prepared by the Alabama Hinstorical Commission, this was built as a resort in 1838 by Capt. William Howard and known as Howard's Hotel. From 1894-1943, it was called Daphne Spring Hotel or Dryer's Hotel. In 1943 it became a private residence of the Morrill family. In 1948 it became the Sacred Heart Juniorate for young women discerning to become nuns. ...
