Description |
1960 Wolverine yearbook (annual) of the Baldwin County Training School in Daphne, Alabama. This copy belonged to Mr. John Leonard, a science teacher at the school in 1960. (Mr Leonard would later become a principal and administrator for the Baldwin County Board of Education.) Mr. Walker J. Carroll was principal. Miss Juanita Washington, student editor, wrote: ""May "The Wolverine" give a panoramic view into our glorious 1959-1960 year and serve as a reminder of our happy high school days and always signify honest effort, school spirit, and respect for our Alma Mater which we dearly love and cherish."" The alma mater is included with this yearbook as a separate flyer, as is the program for the 1981 reunion of the BCTS Class of 1960. Baldwin County Training School had classes for grades 1-12 for Daphne students. It also served as the high school for black students from feeder elementary schools in Baldwin County. Fairhope students completing their elementary education at the Anna T. Jeanes School went to BCTS for grades 9-12.
