Photograph and Historic Sites Survey Update Form dated 2014 of 7 Church Street South in Fairhope, Alabama. This commercial structure was built in 1992 by John Nelson and Mary Ann Nelson, who owned and operated Mary Ann's Deli in that location for many years. This building is located in the Downtown Fairhope Historic District. See 34_71_001-127 for all buildings in this District or search "Downtown Fairhope Historic District." Originally the site was the location of the home of Adolph O. Berglin (A. O. Berglin) and family built c.1905-1910. Mr. Berglin came to Fairhope in 1901 and started a meat market (Berglin The Butcher) located facing Fairhope Avenue near the southeast intersection of Fairhope Avenue and Church Street (sometimes referred in early references as "The Berglin Corner").
