Photograph of the Mershon Brothers Store in Fairhope, Alabama. This picuture is c. 1897-1899. The store was located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Fairhope Avenue and Section Street, the busiest commercial corner in town. The town pump is shown in the middle of the intersection. Arthur H. Mershon and Nathaniel L. Mershon were the proprietors of the business. The rear of A. H. Mershon's house is seen behind the store building. Mershon's house (torn down in 2022) faced Magnolia Avenue. From the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation Archives.
