Photograph by Frank Stewart, The Picture Man, titled "Shakepeare Festival, Fairhope, Ala." The play was performed on the floor of the Bayou Vert gully along the bayfront, a high-cliffed, sandy-floor natural cut-in to the bluff. The audience is seated on the top and sides of Bayou Vert. The note on the back identified Lilian Totten, wife of Judge Edward Totten, holding son Don Edward Totten. JudgeTotten portrayed Shylock in the Festival's production of "The Merchant of Venice."
