Photograph c.1904, of Dr. George Alonzo Mershon (1852-1932), who practiced in the young single tax Colony of Fairhope, Alabama at different times between 1896 and 1918. Kearns, and son Nerl Mershon preceeded the settlers by a day when the Colony was established in November 1894. His daughter Ada Mershon Kearns Johnson and her first husband Jasper, lived in the Colony in the early days and their child Luta Kearns was born here. Dr. Mershon's parents C. H. Mershon and Leah Grauel Mershon also moved to the Fairhope Colony. The back of this card has the inscription " I am your Valentine." From the Paul M.
