Photograph and Historic Sites Survey Update Form dated 2014 of 2 Minnich Court in Fairhope, Alabama. This building is located in the Downtown Fairhope Historic District. See 34_71_001-127 for all buildings in this District or search "Downtown Fairhope Historic District." This small house was built c.1940 by O. K. Cummings (Oscar K. Cummings 1876-1946). Mr. Cummings and family moved to Fairhope in 1924 where some of his wife's relatives, the Minnich family, lived. Cummings help start the Fairhope Chamber of Commerce in 1924, and was a founder, director and then president of the Baldwin County Savings and Loan Association. He was active in acquiring lots, and building small houses either for rent or to sell. This structure is one of the several small cottages near the old Minnich home (see 34_72_159-161) on South Section Street built by Mr. Cummings c.1940.
