Aeriel photograph c. pre-1927 by Frank Stewart, The Picture Man, titled "Fairhope-The Bay in Distance" showing the curving shoreline of Mobile Bay and the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Section Street in close view. The Fairhope Colony Cemetery is seen in front of the line of trees in the mid-distance. The first house on the left was owned at one time by Marietta Johnson (Director and co-founder of the School of Organic Education) and husband John Franklin Johnson. Mr. Stewart was standing on the town water tank, located near the current Fairhope Museum of History (24 N. Section Street) to take this photo. This picture is identified as a Fairhope Photo Shop photograph, which was the name of Mr. Stewart's business.
