Photographs of Arthur H. Mershon and wife Lutie Barlow Mershon taken at the Cottage Gallery in Anamosa, Iowa by C. E. Littlefield (1853-1918). The Mershons moved to the new single tax colony of Fairhope, Alabama in late 1895; these pictures were probably taken prior to their departure from Iowa c. early 1890s. Charles E. Littlefield and family moved to Fairhope in 1899 for Littlefield's health. He opened a furniture and home furnishings store in Fairhope, was a home builder, and continued to take professional photographs as he had in Iowa. These FSTC Archives contain several images of the Littlefield family on outings, buildings which Mr. Littlefield constructed and an intricate diorama of the Fairhope bayfront created by Littlefield.
