Gaston from Prentice Bailey of Glen St. Mary in Baker County, Florida regarding continuing interest in the proposed colony based on the Bellamy Plan (Gaston's National Cooperative Company proposed colony). Prentice was strongly encouraging Gaston to consider middle Florida for the site of the colony. Prentice discussed weather, crops, water and the excellent conditions in that locale.

Leod says he will not be able to participate in the proposed colony due to his circumstances. This is a long letter and very difficult to decipher.

    Letter dated 7/26/1890 to E. B. Gaston from Kelley Mount, requesting information about a proposed colony in Louisiana based on the Bellamy plan. Mount, a professional stenographer and typewriter in Osaswatomie, Kansas, had spent several years in Louisiana, and considers parts of the state "the garden spots of the earth." Mount read an article in the Kanasas City Journal newspaper which prompted the request for information.
