Letter dated 9/21/1906 to E. B. Gaston from Thomas P. Craig in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Craig has some suggestions. He thinks the location of the livery is at an unfortunate location, detracting from the appearance of Fairhope. He says it gives a bad first impression. Instead, Craig thinks the site would be a good location for the library. Secondly, he says Fairhope should consider becoming a health resort like where he lives in Colorado Springs, specifically a place for those suffering from consumption to rehabilitate themselves. He says it would be a good location for a sanitarium, and includes a detailed sketch of what he thinks a good plan. He suggest Gaston talk with R. F. Powell about this. Craig asks what the land Joseph Fels gave the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation is worth. |
