Description |
Letter written to E. B. Gaston on August 21, 1895 from W. E. Brokaw, editor of the Single Tax Courier in St. Louis, Missouri. Apparently, Mr. Brokaw had at some point suggested that he may move the paper to Fairhope but apparently the constant nervous tension of running the paper has had taken its toll on the health of Mr. Brokaw and especially his wife, Mrs. Estelle Backman Brokaw, director of the Single Tax Propoganda Association of America. At this point they both need complete rest to regain their health. They want to come to Fairhope but have no money and want to know whether they will still be welcome in the colony despite the fact that they will not be bringing the newspaper. |
