Description |
Letter dated 4/9/1897 to E. B. Gaston from Theodore W. Siddall in Atlanta, Georgia. Siddall believes in the Free Land Movement, where he says, "land is free to anyone who desires to use it, and is able and willing to pay for its use." He says the movement is based on scripture: Matthew VII, v 3-5. He takes issue with the Fairhope plan and rails against the Fairhope Industrial Association method of deciding "who shall occupy the land on Mobile Bay, what shall be the size of each one's occupancy and the price each one shall pay." Siddall thinks his letter should be published in the Fairhope Courier newspaper. |
