Description |
Letter dated 7/31/1908 to Dr .Harris Greeno, mayor of the Town of Fairhope from Joseph Fels in London, England. Fels is responding to Greeno's letter (see vi.7.43-44) in which he challenges Greeno's comments about his (Fels') reputation, R. F. Powell's reputation, the reasoning behind building the manure wharf and the success /non-success of the Fairhope Plan. He says that he is a businessman who is "the head of one of the largest firms of manufacturers in his line in the world" and he has not been "hoodwinked " into this what he considers valuable social experiement. He says he hopes Greeno is sincere in his intention to work for the best interests of the people of Fairhope. |
