Meeting Minutes of the Fairhope Industrial Association dated May 25, 1896. C. L. Coleman reported that the Wharf was complete. He had done everything but fix car for carrying watermelons and suggested Mr. Kearns do that. E. B. Gaston reported amicable settlement with Mr. Cherry. He also read a letter from Mr. Thad. McNulty claiming charges on his buggy while in possession of the Wharfinger. S. Varnder-Meulen reported getting the Press over from Mobile. S. S. Mann, S. Varder-Meulen and E. B. Gaston were appointed as a committee to select a place for the Press to be set up. Moved and carried that Lawrence family be permitted to put up tents and live on the bay front for the present. Moved and carried that business manager and editor of the Fairhope Courier be authorized to collect accounts due for advertising in the newspaper. Moved and carried that no nude bathing would be allowed on the Fairhope Industrial Association beach. H. C. C. Schakel presented reports of business done on the wharf ending May 14. |
