Letter dated 2/3/1906 to E. B. Gaston from Joseph Fels of Philadelphia. Fels is getting ready to sail for "the other side" i.e. London, England, and is writing Gaston about Colony issues. He tells Gaston that he feels it would be better not to print anything the the Fairhope Courier newspaper about the "Coleman incident." He feels the issue will fix itself as time passes. * It is his opinion that it is within single tax principles to allow outside solicitation for funds to build a water works. Finally he tells Gaston that he and R. F. Powell are trying to interest "well known Single Taxers" in Fairhope. Mr. Dickey of The Public newspaper reports to Fels that he will try to visit Fairhope soon. He expects to return to the United States in June. |
