Letter dated December 18, 1935 from E. B. Gaston to Frank L. Brown, both in Fairhope, Alabama. Gaston is asking Brown his plans for the upcoming 1936 executive council election for the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation. Gaston writes that "I have made up my mind that my 74 years and condition of my health make it inadvisable for me to serve longer and plan to hand in my declination to have my name appear upon the ballot....." Gaston's son Dr. C. A. Gaston will take his place as secretary of the FSTC. E. B. Gaston dies in December 1937. From the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation Archives. |
