                                    Meeting Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Executive Councel of the Fairhope Industrial Association dated April 15, 1896. Special Meeting was called to discuss having a representative of the Fairhope Industrial Association attend the Populist National Convention to be held on July 22, 1896. Suggestions made: Issuance of a special illustrated edition of the Fairhope Couriefr for distribution at the convention. Securing a carload of melons for distribution at the convention provided that the Railroads would cooperate and the melons would be donated. To try to secure a special rate from the Railroads so as to get as many attendees at the cnvention as possible. Moved and carried that the President (S. S. Mann) and the Secretary (E. B. Gaston) should see what could be done with the railroad company and on cuts on illustrating paper. Moved and carried that William Stimpson be appointed to see what subscriptions can be secured from members either in labor, scrip, wharf cerfificates or cash toward tetting out the Courier with not expense to the Fairhope Industrial Association.  |
