Meeting Minutes dated January 20, 1896 of the Executive Council of the Fairhope Industrial Association. H. C. Schakel, Wharfinger, reported that with the help of Mr. Coleman the wharf car had been fixed and they had also put saddle boards on the roof of the wharf house. Mr. Coleman reported the the warehouse was considered to be unsafe. On motion the Wharfinger was instructed to procure materials necessary and make same safe. Trustees reported on report of the Manager of the Fairhope Courier for December. Trustees examined the December report of Mr. Springer, editor, and found balance according to his figures. S. S. Mann and William Stimpson Report of Trustees accepted. Secretary reported that he had heard nothing from Tax Assessor in regards to taxes for 1895 on our land. Matter of valuation of South Park lots was taken from the table and moved that valuation stand as at present. Yeas: C. L. Coleman and E. B. Gaston Nays: H. C. Schakel, J. S. Pollay and George Pollay Motion lost. Moved and carried that matter be laid on the table another week. Application of W. E. and E. B. Brokaw for lot adjoining theirs on the west, was taken from the table and on report of Secretary that notice of application had been duly posted and no other applications had been received, was, on motion granted. Wharfage rate was discussed for persons unloading lumber. Adjourned. Attached to minutes was a report of Manager of Fairhope Courier. |
