Description |
Form letter dated 5/29/1908 from E. B. Gaston. Gaston says the letter was sent to all Socialists in town the evening before the election, and all voted against him except himself. In the letter, Gaston specifically asks the Socialists in the Fairhope Colony to stand with the Single-Taxers in the municipal elections of 1908 in which he is running against Dr. Harris S. Greeno for the position of mayor of Fairhope. He says without the Socialists support, he cannot win, and he represents the platform most suited to their beliefs. He asks "no favor personally" but asks for their support based on the platform. |
