Description |
Reports of Secretary & Trustees, to Members of Fairhope Single Tax Corporation, at Annual Meeting, 1/26/1931. E. B. Gaston, Secretary reported that land speculation necessitated the increase in rents making it more difficult for lessees to pay their rents. The State Tax Commission proposed nearly doubling the Corporations assessment leading the Secretary to see that holding so much bay frontage for use as park lands as a liability for the Corporation and to consider deeding the land to the Town of Fairhope. He has the same view with regard to the wharf. (See 1.15.43-48 for the Trustees report). |
