Letter dated 7/16/1913 to James Bellangee from E. B. Gaston. Gaston is responding to Bellangee in which the latter has protested about actions taken by Gaston and items printed in the Fairhope Courier newspaper, and in which Bellangee innumerates Gaston's faults. Gaston has posted a retraction on the community bulletin board (see 1.10.90) and tells Bellangee, that whatever his weaknesses, he is committed to working for Fairhope and the Single Tax. He says "I do not at all enjoy having to repel personal attacks from those who, it seems to me ought to be my friends and work with me for the principles we both cherish." |
