Book titled "Story of the Tensaw, Blakely, Spanish Fort, Jackson Oaks, Fort Mims" by Prescott A. Parker (aka P. A. Parker 1860-1946). Note: "Blakely" is spelled "Blakeley" in recent times; Parker spelled it with only one 'e.' P. A. Parker presented a copy of this history volume to the Fairhope Public Library and it still has a place in the Library's special collections. P. A. Parker came to the Fairhope vicinity around 1900 and was a prominent figure in the development of the area. A surveyor by trade, he was instrumental in desinging Fairhope's streets through the years. He also developed Volanta, and was involved with the railroad project there. From the Fairhope Public Library Collection and the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation Archives. |
