Letter dated 4/8/1909 to E. B. Gaston from Joseph Fels in response to his letter written 3/25/1909 telling him about repairs needed for the boat. Fels is confident that Mr. Watros will pull the boat through alright and agrees that it was right to go ahead and make the necessary repairs. Fels asks for a statement of the Fairhope Improvement Company; what property they have, including the boat, what rent each house is bringing, what houses are empty etc. He suggests that by the time he comes to Fairhope, it might be time to wipe out the Fairhope Improvement Company and for him or somebody else take over the property. He says that in the last copy of The Eastern Shore, there were some ungraceful allusions to himself. As it is Albright's paper, he suspects they were written by him. He asks Gaston if he can find some responsible person to call on Albright regarding the matter. |
