Description |
Envelope, front and back, dated September, 1933 from Henry Stuart (Henry James Stuart 1858-1946) to his son Herschel and daughter-in-law in Portland Oregon. Stuart, a weaver of rag rugs, typed his return address as Tolstoy Park in Montrose, Alabama, referring to himself as "Ye olde weaver" He was also known as the "Hermit" of Montrose, and for his dwelling - The Round House (Hermit House).
