Meeting Minutes dated 2/6/1896 of the Executive Council of the Fairhope Industrial Association. Results of 2/6/1896 election results and were verified by William Stimpson: S.S. Mann - President A. H. Mershon - Vice President E.B. Gaston - Secretary C.L. Coleman - Treasurer S. Vander Meulen - Supt, Lands and Highways H.C.C.Schakel - Supt, Pulbic Services A.J. Cullen - Supt, Industries G.A. Mershon, Supt. Public Health Wharf Committee report - the shed has been securely attached to the Wharf. Wharfinger Report read. Report on erection of stairway south of the gulley - no assistance has been volunteered by the members to help with this project. The Council moved responsibility of this project from the superintendent of public services to the superintendent of lands and highways. The Schalkenbach land platting request was tabled. Secretary reported about the issue with Mr. Cullen who was delinquent in paying his membership fees. Issue resolved. Secretary reported about the protests filed against the membership application of C.E. Atkinson and L.W. Larson. Enough signatures were collected to carry the motion, and the parties will be contacted. The issue about Mr. Ettel's application rejection was also discussed. Bills approved for payments. A committee was established to help the Secretary balance the books. Mr. Vander Meulen was appointed business manager of the Courier, and Mr. Springer was instructed to turn over all books to him. E. B. Gaston was appointed editor of the Courier. |
