Meeting MInutes of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation for the year 1927; the Corporation usually met twice per month. Topics include routine matters of business as well as: Representatives of the Fairhope Transportation and Excursion Company, which had help fund an expansion of the pierhead in 1922, came before the Colony Council twice in 1927 requesting that they be paid and suggested the payment come from any funds left from the defunct People's Rail Road Company. Adjustments were made to the east side of the Colony Cemetery due to work to widen north Section Street by the Town of Fairhope. The FSTC approved the Home Telephone Company of Mobile, Alabama as the new carrier and set about transitioning to the new system. The secretary was directed to dispose of the old Colony telephones "to best advantage." Six signs were commissioned to be posted warning people not to sign FSTC leaseholds without conferring with the secretary of the Corporation. (N.B. There was concern at this time that leaseholders were charging bonuses for the land and not following FSTC regulations.) Secretary's salary was raised to $75 per month. The acquisition of the Blass-Diehl lands at the Magnolia Beach tract was finalized, with final payment of $1030. William Blass died in 1922, and his widow and daughter, Mrs. W. J. Diehl, sold the property to the Colony. The Eastern Shore Boulevard Bill in the Alabama State House was discussed at several meetings, and the Colony Council instead approved a resolution to support a bill by the "Committee of Ten" about how roads were taxed.
