Video interview dated March 15, 1995 of Kenneth E. "Ken" Wallace. His wife Phyllis was in attendance. Interviewed by Flo Coleman Schneider and Bob Schneider. Ken Wallace talks about his maternal grandfather, Ozzie Freeman. Ken's parents were Walker Wallace, a WWII veteran and Elsie Freeman Wallace. Walker was in the fishing business in Fairhope, and Ken talked about his father's snag lines, making roe, designing the first crabtaps in Baldwin County. Walker Wallace was a poet, and also wrote newspaper and magazine articles for Field & Stream and other journals. He was known for his articles about fishing, Model T Fords and their repair. Among the Fairhope businesses he owned were the City Fish Market and Eastern Shores Realty. Ken Wallace was born in Mobile, and the family moved to Fairhope where he attended the Organic School. He competed in the National Festival of Folk Dance in Cleveland as a member of the Organic School Folk Dancers. After graduating from Guilford College, he worked at the Alabama Journal in Montgomery in various capacities. Note: The volume on the video fades at times.
