Description |
Copy of letter dated 6/3/1931 sent to Anne Bellangee Call. The letter is addressed to E. B. Gaston from A. E. Schalkenbach who is a former Trustee of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation and is writing about the action taken by the FSTC's Council to transfer parklands to the Town of Fairhope. Both Call, a current Trustee, and Schalkenbach believe the FSTC cannot legally transfer lands without either a referendum or an amendment to the constitution. This letter cites Schalkenbach's attorney's opinions supporting the changes, and Schalkenbach strongly objects to what he considers removable of his property rights as a member of FSTC. Further he intimates that he will start legal action along with others who feel the same. From the papers of Anne Bellangee Call. |
