Description |
Letter dated 1/26/1931 to the Members of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation from the Trustees ( A. E. Schalkenbach, Anne B. Call and Delia Knowles Bancroft) criticizing the Executive Council on a number of issues. They feel that there has not been strict adherence to the Constitution of the Corporation, that the method employed of appraising the annual rental value was inconsistent with the method prescribed in the Constitution, they feel that granting the site for the Ball Park should have been decided by the Supreme authority rather than at a meeting of only 3 members (Sam Dyson, Frank Brown, Jessie Stimpson), they believe that the law governing the collection of rents should be enforced uniformly and that the officers should perform their duties without favor, they feel that all members should be involved in the decision of whether or not to deed the park lands to the Town of Fairhope. |
