Description |
Propectus written in 1912 by Samuel Milliken titled "Halidon" including the constitution, deed of trust, lease and a map of the single tax colony in Maine. Cataloger's note" The chief founder of the Halidon Colony was Fiske Warren, whose father, S. D. Warren was a wealthy paper manufacturer in the area. Fiske Warren visited Fairhope on many occasions, and patterned Halidon after Fairhope, calling Fairhope the "mother" of single tax enclaves. Warren was a member of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation and contributed financially to Fairhope projects over the years. Halidon ceased operation in the mid-1950s.
