Description |
Meeting Minutes of the Fairhope Industrial Association dated October 26, 1894, in Des Moines, Iowa (exact location not provided). Meeting of Executive Council called to consider matters relating to the beginning action operations on the colony site. Carried unanimously that a special election be held on Nov. 26, 1894 to such place in Baldwin County, Alabama as announced by the Secretary to fill such vacancies that may exist in the Association at that time. Moved and accepted unanimously that J. P. Hunnel and E. B. Gaston be appointed and empowered to represent the Execultive Council and act in conjuction with others to be selected from among the members of the association on the colony grounds at that time - in the selection and purchase of land upon which to establish Fairhope Colony and perform other duties required before the election called for on Nov. 26, 1894. Moved that they be forbidden to incur any indebtness on the part of the Associaiton,. Carried by unanimous vote. Also moved that a committee be appointed to prepare forms for the non-interest bearing notes of the Association provided for in Art 10, sec 1, and also certificates of stock. J. Bellangee, E.B.
