Meeting Minutes dated 2/2/1895 of the Executive Council of the Fairhope Industrial Association, held at the resident of Elder Dellgren in Battles, Alabama. George Pollay reported on issues regarding acquisition of additional lands. There is reference to the Bowen estate and Mr. Stapleton, who is in litigation with Mrs. Tatum. There was also a report about Nancy Lewis and her claim to Bowen land. August Dellgren reported on his research about the community well and the type of pump needed. Bills were presented Peter Keil, Jasper Kearns, and Oscar Rothert wish to join the Association, but no action as taken uptil their applications for membership are received. Tabled compensation proposal to Hunnel for setting Courier type and acting as Superintendent of Merchanising until the election of the new Executive Council Discussion of the Merchandise Fund and how payments should be made. Authorized the secretary to purchase 200 acres of land from the Bowen estate. Instructed C. L. Coleman to buy some contested land at auction in Daphne on 2/4/1895. Recommended paying bills for building the store, some surverying, and other jobs. |
