Description |
Meeting Minutes of the Wharf Company dated 3/6/1912. Banking issues discussed. The Fairhope Shippers Association (E. G. Darrow, E. Smith C. B. Sheldon, and G. C. Streeter) was invited to the meeting to discuss mutual issues including shippers' rates, storage, courtesy of the Wharfinger, etc. The meeting was temporarily suspended and reconvened on the wharf where the body authorized the purchase of a platform scale with wheels. The wharfage rates for fertilizer and cucumbers were set, and the sale of unclaimed goods in the warehouse was authorized as was a policy to charge for storage of goods after 10 days. |
