Description |
Meeting Minutes of the Fairhope Industrial Association dated November 25, 1895. All were present except the President. C. L. Coleman was elected Chairman ProTem. Wharf Committee reported the following: Wharfinger Should: Should be on hand to collect toll from persons using the wharf and toll should be set by the Council. Fees should be turned over to the Teasurer no later than Monday of each week. Should Look after safety of the wharf property and remove all floating logs and trees floating in the vincinity of the wharf. Take care of lights and keep ditches open. Tolls should be the same as the ones at Battles: 5 cents for each person 5 cents for each package unless unusual size then 10 cents or upwards 25 cents for each head of live stock 75 cents for a car load--wharf car Wharf Committee reported wharf was complete within about 400 feet of the shore. Matters of appraisals of Vander Wenler and Schakel for lots south of the gulley was taken from table. Matter of horse trough again laid on the table until the matter of pump is decided. Secretary reported he had consulted the code in regard to the necessity of securing charter for the wharf. Bills presented. |
