Description |
Meeting MInutes of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation dated 1925. The Corporation usually met twice per month. Included is the routine business of the Corporation as well as discussion of work on roads (connecting Greeno Road to Foley and the proposed Silverhill to Robertsdale Road-Highway 104), streets, Wharf improvements (enlarging the pierhead, hiring a night watchman for the summer, establishing fees for cars on the Wharf), dissolution of the assets of the failed People's Rail Road (tracks, depot and land lease) back to the FSTC, continuing discussion of conveying parks to the Town of Fairhope but with no movement, proposing amendment to the constitution disallowing leaseholders "bonuses" on transfer of deeds (aka land speculation) and disallowing any member from speculating on land near Fairhope, new FSTC membership application, buying a new stove heater for the Fairhope Public LIbrary, consideration of a park within Knoll Park for the Child Welfare Association, and other issues.
