Video dated October 3, 2022 titled "Life in Montrose 100 Years Ago" presented by Richard "Dick" Scott, Jr. The presentation was made to the Montrose Historic Preservation Society in Montrose, Alabama. Run time is approximately 22 minutes. Dr. Roy A. "Bo" Kite introduced Mr. Scott. The pictorial-with-captions presentation covers the topics of Montrose houses, streets, mail delivery, education, law enforcement, medical facilities, communication, transportation and the Montrose Cemetery. Presenter Dick Scott, a Montrose native, recounted his experiences growing up in an 1850s-era house, as well as many other details about the history of Montrose. Montrose was originally named Sibley City after Cyrus Sibley, who founded it in 1847. Sibley deeded land for Montrose Cemetery in 1856. Henry Stuart's famous Round House at Tolstoy Park is located in Montrose, Alabama; these Archives include considerable information about Stuart, including diaries about his life in Montrose from 1923-1944.
