Letter dated October 2, 1923 by Henry Stuart (Henry James Stuart). The receipient is unknown, although it was not a family member because Stuart signs it formally as H.J. Stuart. Stuart is on a trip from Nampa, Idaho to Montrose, Alabama, where he is relocating, He will arrive in Mobile on October 17, 1923, and to Montrose on October 18th. In this letter, Stuart is writing from the Stark Hotel in Alliance, Ohio, a town where he attended Mount Union College in academic year 1879-1880. He visited the campus, an old school mate and some old professors. He intends to visit Damascus, Ohio where he lived until he was sixteen, as well a Salem, Ohio where he lived from 1874-1884. His plans are to then go to Washington, D.C., where his sons were born, and then on to Fairfax County,Virginia where he lived from January 1894 to June 1896 and then to Alabama.
