Letter dated 7/3/1906 to E. B. Gaston from R. F. Powell writing on Fairhope Improvement Company Letterhead. Powell is glad to learn that Mr. Slaughter and Dr. Harris Greeno are renovating the Fortuna boat and Powell is "pretty sure" it will be for the Fairhope market. Powell responds to Gaston's comments about Mr. Wolf's "ugly disposition" and reminds Gaston that when Wolf moved to Fairhope, Powell said he was "an erratic sort of fellow." Powell also mentions Mr. Strause. Powell comments of the give and take between E. Q. Norton and Gaston in their respective newspapers. Powell says he is glad Gaston has "his back up" and is "givng Norton a little roasting." He comments on Norton's inability to hold any position on a topic for very long. Powell comments that his wife and daughter have been ill. |
