The video decribes the close knit, family-oriented African -American community in Fairhope, Alabama. Interviews with many descendants of original families, some dating to the early 1800's, include information about the life of early settlers, family and community life,discrimination of the time, education, job opportunities and businesses in Fairhope. The video was made available by the Fairhope Museum of History.
