Description |
Letter dated 11/27/1894 to E. B. Gaston from James Bellangee of Des Moines, Iowa. Bellangee is working hard for the Fairhope Colony from Des Moines, and is overseeing the printing of Fairhope scrip certificates - Fairhope money. He is enclosing a proof of the ten dollar bill. He explains that there is no dollar sign or "anything which says dollar except in the body of the certificate so there can be no resemblance to money." Further, Bellangee tells Gaston of his visit with Gaston's sister and mother, and of their interest and "good words" they had for Gaston. |
