Description |
Letter dated 10/12/1907 to E. Q. Norton, editor Daphne Standard newspaper, from R. S. McMahon of New Iberia, Louisiana. Being concerned for the success of the Fairhope Colony and hearing of some trouble there, he made an investigation. He visited Fairhope, met with both the single taxers and the "kickers." He has correspondended with the residents of Fairhope and read all the "anti" articles in the Daphne Standard. The purpose of his letter is to present his observations to Norton's readers by way of a made up dialogue between "Mr. Kicker" and "Mr. Showmee." McMahon concludes by giving a favorable report on the Fairhope Colony and the work being done there. |
