Description |
Meeting Minutes of the Fairhope Industrial Association dated May 4, 1896. E. B. Gaston reported that lumber for wharf had arrived and that a subscription of $10 to Wharf Fund had been received from A. Swift of Des Moines, Iowa. E. B. Gaston made a report on findings by himself and S. S. Mann on the best route for the road. It was decided that S. S. Mann should go and get the Mann Press. S. Vander Meulen reported on business of the Fairhope Courier for April. Treasurer (C. L. Coleman) gave the Treasurers Report for April. Superintendant ot Lands and Highways (S. Vander Meulen) gave report on roads and was directed to keep an account of volunteer work. Application for 16 1/2 acres by A. H. Mershon was granted subject to payment of the $6.50 bonus bid. Application of C. Foord for acre at intersecion of Magnolia and First Street granted. Wharf work was discussed. Moved and carried that no piles less than 5" around at the small end be accepted and that no colored help or other help payable in cash be hired aside from Mr. Cherry. |
