Meeting Minutes dated 4/8/1895 of the Executive Council of the Fairhope Industrial Association. Supt. of Lands and Highways George Pollay reported on clearing the 80 foot street, with a total cost of $50.88 and producing 66 cords of wood. Committee on the well reported a crew had been secured to dig the well. C. L. Coleman, chairman of the committee reviewing the merchanise department reported a loss of $33.03. The Council accepted the resignation of J.P. Hunnell as head of the merchandise department; C. L. Coleman is the replacement and discussed hours the store should be open. Hunnell presented bills to the Council. The secretary was instructed to look for lands coming for auction near Fairhope. The secretary's salary was reduced to $25 per month from $40 since he was working 5 hours per day on Association business. Other issues regarding leases were discussed. |
